Statement
These paintings are landscapes as abstract meditations. I am attracted to the geometry of nature, its inherent apparent underlying math as these works are fundamentally geometric. I am also intrigued by the random and undefined aspects of nature. It is the convergence of these unique forces that excites my work and creates a tension where the structured geometry encounters the undefined and the random. These landscapes offer a structured, yet random vision of nature converging in color, linearity, flowing form, and scintillating light.
And light is meditation.
My work is imbued with erratic light, a specific, non-specific light that is enigmatic, a light of time, a meditative light.Structure in my work offers a sense of control and logic yet is accompanied by the errant, erratic motion of color and light.
